Teddy Bears

He could never hold her
Only watch her as she cried
For he had arms that could not move
And every night he saw her die inside

He could never whisper words of comfort to her
Only watch her as she thrashed about and screamed
For his lips were sewn shut
And every night he heard her pleas

He could never make her pain disappear
Only watch as it consumed her
For he was unable to move at all
And every night he saw her move closer

He could not stop her from what she did
Only watch as she destroyed her cold world
For he was just a simple stuffed bear
And every night she'd seek for warmth
